Scott Hamilton Kennedy's documentary details the creation and threatened demolition of South Central Farm, a 14-acre community garden in a deprived area of Los Angeles. The largest of its kind in the United States, the garden was established in the wake of the LA riots in 1992. Since then, its workers have created an oasis of beauty, calm and productivity for their inner-city community - but now the garden has been sold to a private contractor and is threatened with demolition.
This film documents the two-and-a-half-year court battle to save the South Central Farm after the farmers are issued with eviction notices and bulldozers prepare to level the garden in order to build warehouses on the site.
