A full edition of Books 5 and 6 of Tacitus' Annals, which cover the emperor Tiberius' last years. Although Book 5 is mostly lost, Book 6 survives in its entirety and offers a vivid narrative of the increasingly tyrannical princeps, whose concluding obituary notice is one of the most famous passages of classical literature.
